The Oneplus 9 is an Android smartphone running on Oxygen OS and powered by a premium Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 processor. It also has 8GB RAM and Adreno 660 GPU.
It features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 402 ppi. It also has a triple-camera setup on the rear. It includes a 48 MP primary camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP monochrome sensor.
Display
The Oneplus 9 sports a 6.55-inch, 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,100 nits of peak brightness. Like the OnePlus 8T, it’s also HDR10+ certified.
In addition, the display offers a wide array of adjustable features and is easy to manage through the phone’s OxygenOS software. Among them is “Fluid Display 2.0” with LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) tech, which allows it to dynamically change refresh rates to fit the content displayed on the screen.
The OnePlus 9’s display is smooth and responsive, with low input lag. It’s also among the best in our database for touch accuracy, with responsive edges and corners.
Camera
Cameras have often been a weak point for OnePlus phones, but the Oneplus 9 promises to improve. The phone features a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and it also has a 2MP monochrome sensor to aid low-light photography.
But the most significant upgrade comes from OnePlus’s partnership with Hasselblad, a renowned camera manufacturer. It lends some of its color science to the software, which will help better reproduce natural colors.
However, it’s important to note that the OnePlus 9 still suffers from over-sharpening edges and smoothing over details too aggressively. This makes fine textures look blurry and less-than-lifelike, making cropping photos challenging.
The camera of the OnePlus 9 Pro is no slouch, but it does have some issues, particularly in low light. The primary camera struggles to take good photos at night and the digital zoom isn’t as effective as it was on the OnePlus 8 Pro.
Battery
The Oneplus 9 is a great phone, but its battery can sometimes be an issue. If your OnePlus 9 battery is damaged or low, you can buy a replacement battery pack from us at an affordable price & enjoy the entire performance and maximum up-time.
Luckily, the OnePlus 9 has an excellent 4,500 mAh battery that should be enough to power you through a day of mixed-use. The OnePlus 9 Pro’s Warp Charge 65T charging system can recharge from empty to 100 percent in 29 minutes — faster than most wired chargers.
Oxygen OS powers onePlus phones; a custom Android reskin that adds a few extra features to make the experience more familiar. The software is simple to use but still packs plenty of extras like a battery status bar and innovative power optimizations.
Performance
The OnePlus 9 is an exciting phone. It’s a high-end phone with top-tier performance and an excellent software experience. It doesn’t quite compete with the Galaxy S21, but it’s worth a look if you want a great phone in this price range.
The display is similar to the OnePlus 8T display, with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate (which can be dialed down for lower-intensity content), and HDR10+ certification. However, it misses out on some features exclusive to the OnePlus 9 Pro, including low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) and Hypertouch.
OnePlus has always struggled with its cameras, but this year’s multi-year partnership with Hasselblad seems to have helped improve the imaging experience. The OnePlus 9’s 48MP primary camera and 50MP wide-angle camera work well in most situations, while the 2MP monochrome sensor is useful for low-light shooting and black-and-white photography.
